Healing Heart Family Services, LLC (HHFS) is a community-based, for-profit mental health agency dedicated to providing mobile crisis response and community stabilization services for individuals facing acute mental health challenges. Our mission at HHFS is to empower those in crisis with compassionate, client-centered support that promotes stability, healing, and long-term well-being. We are committed to delivering responsive, personalized care that uplifts each individual with dignity and respect. Meet Our CEO
Dawn M. Saunders, BA, QMHP
Dawn Saunders is the visionary founder of Healing Heart Family Services, LLC, with over 12 years of experience in the mental health field. She has dedicated her career to creating meaningful change and making a difference for this population. Dawn holds dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Sociology from North Carolina Central University and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling at Liberty University.

Her career spans a range of settings, including correctional facilities, therapeutic day treatment, crisis stabilization, mental health skill-building, intensive in-home counseling, group homes, supported living, and county government roles. This diverse experience has shaped her belief in the importance of individualized, community-centered care.

Driven by a passion for helping others and a commitment to making an impact, Dawn founded HHFS to provide a safe space for individuals in crisis. Her vision was to create a company that goes beyond services, offering genuine connection, advocacy, and hope.

How we serve our clients.
Mobile Crisis Response Services
Healing Heart Family Services’ Mobile Crisis Response program is designed to provide immediate, face-to-face intervention for individuals experiencing a behavioral health crisis. Our skilled staff is available 24/7 and responds directly to community settings to de-escalate crises, assess needs, and connect individuals with ongoing care and resources. With rapid response times and a focus on safety and dignity, our team works collaboratively with individuals to stabilize situations and prevent psychiatric hospitalization or legal involvement. Every step we take is grounded in empathy, cultural sensitivity, and the belief that healing begins with being heard.
Community Stabilization Services
Our Community Stabilization program offers short-term, intensive support to individuals transitioning out of a crisis or psychiatric setting, or those at risk of hospitalization. This service bridges the gap between acute care and long-term support, helping individuals maintain safety, build coping skills, and access essential resources.

Through personalized, one-on-one care, we help clients identify triggers, create effective safety plans/individualized service plans, and make necessary referrals for support within the community. Whether someone is stepping down from a crisis episode or simply needs more focused support, HHFS provides a stabilizing hand during vulnerable periods to ensure continuity of care, restoring hope, and promoting independence.
